Loss and Unwarned Destruction

I really want to talk about Tallinn. She was two years old—a very, very beautiful little girl that we had to bury. Our family has been watching the burials live. We are watching the news to figure out who the family members that we lost are. You've provided us some pictures of the family members. There's eight. The little girl I mentioned, Tallinn, was two years old. How did she die? They were given no warning, no text message, no phone call—just an airstrike. The whole building fell on top of their heads.

Scattered Across Gaza

I was actually born in Gaza and Rafah in southern Gaza. My dad's family is there. We had a lot of people in Khan Yunis. My uncle was in Gaza City. When they asked everybody to leave, people were being killed on the road as they were leaving. There's no such thing as safe even in the south. My dad's youngest brother actually called him a few days ago, and he was basically saying that he wants to say goodbye. He's like, we might not make it out this time.

The Weight of Distance

It's not fair that they're living it and we get to close our phones. The guilt is really heavy. I wake up at 2 a.m., I'm checking my phone. Is there any news from anyone back home? Palestinians are human beings, just like everybody else. These are our family.
